Manny Ramirez Has Been Traded
Friday, August 1st, 2008
So if you are a sports enthusiast, then you already know that Red Sox outfielder Manny Ramirez has been traded to the L.A Dodgers. After 7 1/2 years with the Sox, Ramirez was involved with in a 3 way deal involving the Pirates, which had concluded right before the 1 pm trade deadline this past Thursday (7/31). After much anxiety in Boston, it has been apparent for some time that Ramirez wanted out. Luckily for him, the Sox will still be paying him the remainder of his $21 mil. contract with a nice $7 mil. send off. Currently with a winning percentage of .500 (a 54-54 record), the Dodgers are really trying to make some serious power plays in order to make it to the post season. Hopefully for them, Manny Ramirez, short stop Angel Berroa, and potential 3B Casey Blake (all traded to L.A this season), will be the cure they need to break past the Arizona D’bacls.
