Professional Video Gamers News

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

If you are a guy or gal who spends the majority of their time in a comfortable chair with your controller in hand, screaming or jumping about during a video game, then you are in luck. A bit of great Professional Video Gamers News, a recent study has found that gamers (targeted on EverQuest 2) have a self-purported height and weight that is on average 10% leaner than the current national weight conditions. This is a hilarious twist of events considering most consider gamers to be extremely over weight! This study conducted by the South California University also has findings that show women actually spend more time at the controls then men do, even though men outnumber women gamers 4-1.  Who would have ever thought that a video game like EverQuest 2 could yield such important results? If you are a big fan of console or PC games, it is time to bask in the knowledge that perhaps the stereotype of a gamer will soon turn to a lean, mean, video game machine.

GameStop Downloadable PC Games

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Call me crazy but most of my free time (and not so free time) is spent playing video games. I really could care less that while other people are out shopping or “enjoying the nice weather” I am inside trying to take over planet after planet, in an attempt to dominate the entire universe. If you are like me and need games in your life fast, check out GameStop Downloadable PC Games. This is a great way for gamers to feed their need to play the newest and hottest games, all without having to drive to some over priced game store. Basically all you need to do is browse the GameStop selection of downloadable games (ex. Gears of War, Civilization, etc.), choose one, and get ready to play. GameStop in many cases even offers playable previews of these PC games so you know what you are getting into. They also offer a secured digital download and a small software package that will allow you to continue a download even after a connection has been lost. Granted, if you are downloading games at GameStop you will need a high speed Internet service. However if you are a true gamer, chances are solid that you already have that!

Super Smash BrothersFor those of you who haven’t heard the news, Super Smash Brothers is back in town. For Wii, comes the next generation of hit em’ up, shoot em’ up, smash em’ up game play using the Wii remote, remote and nunchuck, classic controller, or game cube controller. Your favorite characters including Mario, Link, and Pikachu, are now joined by new and dangerous adversaries like Donkey Kong and that grimey Wario guy, to fight the ultimate battle on new (and make your own) boards. With stunning cinematic game play, new weapons, and moves, this is the best Super Smash Brothers to date.

Liberty CityWe have all been patiently waiting (by patiently I mean searching the internet on a daily basis for new info and clips) for the new GTA IV: Liberty City. At it’s roots, the newest version of Grand Theft is centered around a Russian immigrant who comes to New York City at the request of his cousin. Wouldn’t you know it, but the promise of riches is not as easy to obtain as originally expected. Turning to the Russian mafia, our hero faces a multitude of tasks while obviously still avoiding the fuzz, and keeping alive on the streets. Exhibiting next generation game play with the ability to go up and down buildings, the stunning details of street life, faster cars, and in depth plot lines may just be the making of the most full throttle GTA yet.
