Via Spiga Sandals

It is true, some of the gladiator sandals in this season are hideous examples of fashion trying to reinvent the middle ages. Just put them around Russell Crowe’s ankles, and all the lions will no doubt run away!! But I must admit, media has its powerful influence; you just need to see the images over and over and you are stung. To be honest, some examples of the leather wrap are noteworthy featured in these shoes are actually noteworthy. This version of Via Spiga’s Woman Undo is a smart example of how not all gladiator shoes are created equally. Here we have a pattern which is a fun black and white giraffe, a far cry from any domestic animal from Rome. The shoe’s ankle wrap design also commands attention because it is reminiscent of the modern and innovative architectural design of Beijing’s new Olympic Stadium, The Bird’s Nest. A great overall sandal, you can wear them either as casual street look during the day with a pair of jeans, or you can put them on (or off) easily for a hot cocktail date. The flat heal and leather topped foot bed with heal pad allow for comfort even allow for wild dancing all night long. The round toe thong post might take a bit getting used to, but together with a fun nail polish color, it will definitely pay off in the end. The Via Spiga Undo comes in size 6.5 only. Now it’s up to the gladiator to find his fitting Cinderella match.
