Phillies Pitcher Cole Hamels
Wednesday, October 1st, 2008
As the pinstripes get ready to take the field today in their first post-season game, Phillies Pitcher Cole Hamels will be the one on the mound pulling the trigger. The Phillies playoff game against the Brewers is scheduled to start at 3pm E.S.T and will be luckily be played at gold old Citizens Bank Park for some solid home field advantage. As one of the MLB’s most feared left-handed pitchers, Cole Hamels had a surprisingly bad NLDS start last October (giving up 3 runs) as they lost to the Rockies under his pitching. This year however is a different story. Hamels at only 24 now has a little post season experience under his belt, and I believe we can expect to see some great things from him today. The ma after all does throw a lot of strikes out there. Oddly, the Philadelphia Phillies have a hard time scoring when Cole Hamels is on the mound. I am not sure exactly why this relationship has been occurring throughout this past season, but I do know you can’t win an NLDS game without hitting in some runs.
So the Phillies lost 3-2 against the Braves last night, only have the Mets also beat the Cubs 6-2. This brings the Phillies lead in the N.L East to only 1.5 games with only a handful left to play. Lucky for
