Nintendo Wii Console Sale

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Nintendo Wii seems to be one of the most elusive console gaming systems ever created. Everyone knows someone who has one, yet no one can ever get his or her hands on one. I even heard a rumor that Nintendo will not even be releasing more Wii’s for the holiday season (can anyone confirm or deny?). That being said, Amazon currently has in stock Nintendo Wii Consoles that can be purchased either new or used. For ages 10 years and up, the Wii console package comes with Wii Sports, controller, and of course motion sensor capabilities. Due to a high demand of Nintendo Wii’s, Amazon is actually limiting the amount of consoles to be purchased to 3 per household. You can imagine, as the holiday season approaches the Wii’s are quickly going to sell out, so be sure to get yours today! For all of your Wii fun, look to Amazon for Wii controllers, games, and various other Nintendo accessories. This is a great opportunity for all of you gamers out there so don’t hesitate too long.

Patagonia Apparel for Men and Women

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Campers, hikers, backpackers, and all others who appreciate nature understand the importance of “going green”. The more waste and toxins that are released quickly destroy the natural habitat of animals, vegetation, and therefore remove the beauty of the outdoors. Buying Patagonia Apparel for Men and Women helps to alleviate such destruction due to the recycled polyester used to construct the fabric. This Patagonia Flash pull over for example is a low bulk high warmth piece of camping apparel that will keep you comfortable in various weather conditions (including cold, wind, and rain) and is constructed of various recycled polyesters and spandex, which can actually be recycled if you ever want to throw it away! The pull over features an off center zip up (for chin comfort), chest zipper, and a high collar for wind protection. Sold through Altrec.com the Patagonia pieces of green gear are currently being sold at a discount for the upcoming holiday season. For any true camper out there, you know this is the only way to equip yourself against the elements, while being as Earth friendly as possible.

Philadelphia Phillies Win The World Series

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

What could have been thought of as a curse, a string of bad luck, bad management, bad players, bad timing, has all come to a halt! Finally the Philadelphia Phillies Win the World Series after 28 long years of waiting and playing ball! The 2008 World Series Championship of baseball comes to Philadelphia with open arms and has been the first championship in the area since 1983. Due largely to World Series MVP Pitcher Cole Hamel’s performance on the mound, as well as the entire teams hard work and efforts, Philadelphia finally gets to take one home. The parade is scheduled to begin Friday at 12:00 pm and will probably be the largest gathering of Philadelphians (and others from the tri-state area) in the history of the state. If you are looking to show your Phillies support with World Series apparel, check out what either Dicks Sporting Goods or the ESPN Shop has to offer. There you will find great Phillies World Series cold weather apparel like hoody’s game day sweatshirts, knit hats, and much more. If you are going to the parade, maybe I will see you there!

Philadelphia Phillies World Series

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

It is official that the Philadelphia Phillies will be continuing game 5 of the World Series tonight against the Tampa Bay Rays. What started of as an unprecedented World Series rain delay has turned into one of the biggest 3.5 innings ever played in a potentially final Championship game. Scheduled for tonight at 8:29 EST (with a game tied at 2-2), it is still undetermined who will be pitching for each side. Tampa Bay must use their best from the bullpen as there may not be a tomorrow, while the Phillies may either use the Madson/Lidge combo or look to someone else for the first part of the game. Regardless it may seem as the Phillies do have an advantage tonight as they have 12 outs to work with as opposed to the Rays who only have 9, plus cold weather conditions that the Rays may not be used too. Either way I think we can expect to see a great crowd both at the stadium and throughout the tri state area. If you are looking to support the Phillies in their victory, check out the ESPN Shop for some great cold weather Phillies apparel.

World Series Game 5 Delay

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Due to an unprecedented (yet foreseeable) weather condition, the Philadelphia Phillies World Series Game 5 was postponed after only 5 and a half innings. Initially the Phills looked great with a two run lead that is until some wet follies by Jimmy Rollins allowed the Rays some base runners in scoring position. It was only after the game was tied at 2 did the umpires decide conditions were too extreme to have fair game play. After 403 World Series games played (started since 1903), this was the first game ever in history to be called for a rain delay. It just so happens to be a situation where the Philadelphia Phillies could have clinched, done it at home, and in exactly 5 games, with ace pitcher Cole Hamels on the mound. I am not a superstitious person, but I believe the curse of Billy Pen is real, and in full force. Meanwhile commissioner of baseball Bud Selig was going to resume the game tonight, however from the looks of it outside I just don’t see how that is going to be possible. Another tremendously sad day for Philadelphia and their sports teams, if you still want to show a little bit of Phillies love, check out some great Phillies apparel (and other official MLB gear) at the ESPN Shop. Hopefully one of those Phillies fleece hoodies will warm you up after last night’s debacle. This situation is truly beyond belief.

BioShock XBOX Video Game

Monday, October 27th, 2008

If you haven’t played the Bioshock XBOX Video Game, you are really sleeping behind the wheel. In terms of playing a game (for console), Bioshock easily takes the lead with intense characters, crazy graphics, and an awesome storyline. Imagine your plane has just crashed into uncharted waters, you sink into what appears to be an aquatic biosphere, and soon find that the utopia that was once hoped for has quickly turned into mutated humans, corrupted leadership, and a slew of rotten corpses. Sounds like fun no? Generally hanging around a 17-18+ rating, Bioshock for Xbox is a great gift idea for the upcoming Christmas season, or could be used as just a an after hours stress reliever! PC Universe is actually selling many Xbox and PC games for all those people out there who just can’t seem to get enough of them, and is making available a $5 off coupon for all purchases at $50 or more. 1-2 games with certainly cover that price, just add the coupon code: welcome08 when prompted. Pyramat Video Gaming Chairs

Friday, October 24th, 2008

With the upcoming holiday gift-giving season, there is a solid chance your kids are going to be getting a wide variety of video games and/or video game systems. To heighten the experience (and for full gaming fun and relaxation), you need to check out these awesome Pyramat Video Gaming Chairs. I prefer to use this Pyramat wireless sound rocker because of its wireless audio reception, cordless nature (with rechargeable battery), iPod/Mp3/PSP input, storage pockets, and comfortable microfiber fabric. If I wanted a more of a relaxing game, I could always go with the Pyramat Sound Lounger that has a 5.5” subwoofer, 3” full range speakers, is extremely easy to assemble, folds up (for easy storage) and has volume/bass controls right in the lounger. Both of these video gaming chairs are a great way of playing, and are currently coming with fantastic deals. Until the end of the holiday season, the Pyramat gaming lounge chairs can be purchased and shipped with FREE shipping, which means more $ for some extra video games.

Logitech diNovo Edge Keyboard

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Why is it that no matter how good of a speller you are or WPM you can type, a regular keyboard always seems to make mistakes? Especially the keyboards with wires that you constantly have to shift or pull in order to make sure there is enough slack, this type of thing can really break a persons concentration. The Logitech diNovo Edge Keyboard is one of the most advanced, intuitive, and precise wireless keyboards currently on the market. Using advanced Li-Ion batteries that will run faster and longer (a recharge stand included), this keyboard uses a “Perfectstroke key system” that even distributes typing force for constant fluid typing. The diNovo Keyboard also uses an advanced touch pad for easily scrolling and a touch sensitive volume slider for quick precision audio adjustments. My personal favorite feature of the diNovo Edge keyboard (aside from the highly modern looking design) is the backlit hot keys that fade into the background when not in use. Logitech has gone a step ahead in keyboard advancements in making the Edge, and users have all given it the highest rating possible.

Harman Kardon PC Speakers

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Why is it that no matter how “media oriented” your computer claims to be, the clarity and volume of the built in speakers are always less then expected. If you are trying to actually enjoy all the music you are downloading, try using a set of Harman Kardon PC Speakers. As computer speakers go, the Harman Kardon Soundsticks are pretty good considering it includes 20 Watt RMS subwoofer output, touch control for easy volume adjustment, and an equalizer made specifically to handle tunes through the PC. Outside of clear tones and overall crystal sound quality, the one thing you can be sure about when you set up the 2 speaker sticks and subwoofer is that the Harman Kardon speaker set will get some attention. Unlike many other PC speakers, these babies come with style and attitude! From the picture you can see that they use a highly durable clear plastic design that will make any entertainment system sleek and modern. These speakers will work across any platform (Mac, P.C, etc.), and are being sold at a very reasonable price for the quality. Reviews at Amazon have given the Harmon Kardon speakers an overall rating of 5 stars, so you can be sure it is some quality sound.

Professional Video Gamers News

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

If you are a guy or gal who spends the majority of their time in a comfortable chair with your controller in hand, screaming or jumping about during a video game, then you are in luck. A bit of great Professional Video Gamers News, a recent study has found that gamers (targeted on EverQuest 2) have a self-purported height and weight that is on average 10% leaner than the current national weight conditions. This is a hilarious twist of events considering most consider gamers to be extremely over weight! This study conducted by the South California University also has findings that show women actually spend more time at the controls then men do, even though men outnumber women gamers 4-1.  Who would have ever thought that a video game like EverQuest 2 could yield such important results? If you are a big fan of console or PC games, it is time to bask in the knowledge that perhaps the stereotype of a gamer will soon turn to a lean, mean, video game machine.

Top 10 iPhone Applications

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

For those of you who have not yet gotten your hands on an Apple iPhone, there are so many great functions and downloadable applications that make this cell the hottest on the market. Although at this point there are thousands to choose from, the best news about what is considered to be the Top 10 iPhone Applications is that most of them are for the price of FREE. To top off the list of iphone apps is Ebay Mobile (free). A great piece that allows you to keep an eye on all your bidding and buying needs, the application also uses tabs for easy browsing. Ebay Mobile and SaveBenjis (comparative shopping) will give you everything you are looking for at the right price. Next down the list is Mocha VNC Lite, a nice little iphone application that will allow you to control your desktop via iphone (use only over LAN network). For media purposes look to Pandora Radio and BeatMaker. You will soon be able to personalize radio stations over the iPhone 3G network and create your own master beats! Phillies Post Season Push

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

So the Phillies lost 3-2 against the Braves last night, only have the Mets also beat the Cubs 6-2. This brings the Phillies lead in the N.L East to only 1.5 games with only a handful left to play. Lucky for Philly fans, the Mets still need to finish their series against the hard hitting Cubs, which has already resulted in one Mets loss. If the Phillies do get to the playoffs, I say vote Ryan Howard as MVP, and even support his nomination to receive the Hank Aaron award. Currently with 46 home runs and 142 RBI’s, Howard is an absolute threat regardless of what is being thrown at him. With weight and raw power the man has a huge kill zone over the plate, and can sail a ball deep in opposite field, even at a pitchers stadium. If you a fightin Phill’s fan, you should check out the great assortment of official Phillies MLB apparel at the ESPN Shop. From hats, to long sleeve shirts, hoodies (for those cooler post season games), and authentic mlb jerseys, the ESPN Shop has it all for the true pinstripe fan.

Eagles Football Injury Report

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

This past Sunday was some of the hardest hitting Eagles football I have seen in some time. The team went on to win 15-6 against the Steelers due largely to the only touchdown scored by our very own Correll Buckhalter. Other than this offensive push, the Eagles Defense (including player of the week Brian Dawkins) went on to sack Big Ben Roethlisberger a total of 9 times, resulting in multiple turnovers as well as a safety. The question was if the game was worth the expense. The Eagles Football Injury Report is not looking good for the members in green. Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Shawn Andrews, and L.J Smith are members of the team who is not practicing during the Wednesday routine, and there is only speculation as to who will be playing this Sunday against the Bears. With Donovan’s chest contusion who even knows how much velocity he will be able to get on the ball, and with a hurt ankle, I’d rather see Westbrook ride the sideline this week in preparation for a long season ahead. If you are a fan of the Eagles, check out some great Eagles apparel at Dicks Sportin Goods to show the team a little support!
