Ok for those of you who are not keeping up with the MLB Playoff Standings, things are getting pretty interesting in all divisions. In the NLDS, the Philadelphia Phillies are going 2-0 against the Brewers (they play away on Saturday), and the Dodgers are 2 up on the Cubs. In the ALDS, the Boston Red Sox are 1-0 on the Angels (they play tonight at 9:30), and the Rays are holding a 1-0 lead on the White Sox (game 2 tonight at 6:00). In terms of playoff games, the Boston Red Sox have beaten the Angels in 10 straight showdowns, which means the pressure is really on for Anaheim. On the opposite end of the coin (in the NLDS) the Phillies could smother the Brewers and easily coast into NLCS with a World Series Championship in mind. My predictions are that the Phillies will play at beat Dodgers in the NLCS and will face the Red Sox in the big game. MLB Playoffs are always an exciting time to route for your home team, so you had better wear some official MLB for support.

For those of you out there who thought Brett Favre was a wash up, I really hope you got to watch last week’s game against the Cardinals. Was it something in the water, perhaps it was the throwback uniforms? Whichever the case may be, Brett went on to throw 6 T.D passes (happens to be a career high) with 1 pick, to win Jets 56-Cardinals 35. This was the 2nd most points the Jets ever scored in franchise history, as they were able to force 7 (yes 7) Arizona turnovers. Overall Brett Favre went 24/34 for 289 yards, 6 good in the end-zone, and only 1 pick. If this does not tell you to go out and grab a Brett Favre Jets Jersey I don’t know what will. Luckily for the boys in green (though this week more blueish), they are headed into the Bye for a little R&R but will be playing Carson Palmer and the Cincinnati Bengals come week 6. If you are a Brett Favre fan, check out the ESPN Shop for some great NFL apparel.

Despite what looked to be a potential rain out/rain delay, the Philadelphia Phillies have yesterday won their first post-season game in 15 years. Cole Hamels had a spectacular game, as he had 9 strikeouts, and allowed only 2 hits within 8 shutout innings. Unquestionably a left-handed pitching threat, it was actually not even until the 5th when a Brewer was even able to touch first base. To finish the eventual 3-1 victory, ace closer Brad Lidge replaced Hamels, and put the Brewers on ice for the rest of the night. Scoring their only 3 runs during the 3rd, the Phillies stood behind Hamels by putting up a defensive wall (led by Chase Utley), and kept control of game 1 from start to finish. Game 2 of the NLDS against the Brewers is scheduled for today 6pm EST at Citizens Bank Park, where the Phillies plan on making this a 2-0 series. If you are looking to support the Philadelphia Phillies on their run at the World Series (yes they do look good enough), check out some great Phillies apparel at the ESPN Zone.

The funny thing about Dallas Cowboy wide receiver Terrell Owens, is his ability to help stir up trouble even when he is quiet. Now for those of you who did not see the Redskins at Texas Stadium this past Sunday (Skins 26, Cowboys 24), you should be glad to know that running back Rock Cartwright decided to pull out a little dance number right on top of the mid field Cowboys Star. Sound familiar to anyone else?? Yes, although T.O pretty much invented that move, it didn’t stop Dallas D-Tackle Tank Johnson from getting heated and then restrained before he was able to remove Rock from his feet. Apparently Tank Johnson believes that this type of celebration should be considered low class and wanted to “discuss” that with Cartwright. Oddly, I don’t remember Tank getting as annoyed when T.O pulled out a little two-step only a season ago. As an Eagles fan with an innate hatred of Dallas, I like the move by Tank Johnson a lot. In fact maybe they will get aggravated enough to blow the rest of the season. This will be the Dallas Cowboys last season at Texas Stadium, as they will be upgrading to the billion-dollar field that will have another star at the 50. Maybe someone else will be able to throw down a little break dance number and destroy the Cowboys next season too.

What is wrong with NFL referee Ed Hochuli? I don’t understand how many bad calls a referee can make before they are politely asked to not be there anymore. Yes, I know that referees have their own little “grading system” but the periodic nature of his bad call is getting a little out of hand. Recently after his last bad call (just two weeks ago) which ultimately resulted in a 39-38 crazy Bronco comeback win against the Chargers, Ed Hochuli has done it again this past Sunday during the Atlanta-Carolina game. For those who didn’t see the game or read yet what had happened, Richard Marshal (Panthers) picked off Matt Ryan’s pass and ran it back for a T.D. All would have been O.K in the Carolina Panthers world, except for the fact that Ed Hochuli made another questionable call as he flagged Julius Peppers for roughing the passer by leading with helmet to helmet contact. Even though instant replays shows Peppers with initial shoulder contact, the Hochuli ruling stood and the Panther touchdown was removed off the scoreboards.

I have been saying it since the beginning of the season, because I knew deep down that the Phillies would be playing in October. Now the Phillies NL East Champions are playoff bound and looking towards the Brewers on Wednesday as their first game of the National League Division Series. Finishing the regular season off with 48 home runs and almost 3 times as many RBI’s (144 to be exact), Ryan Howard is one of MLB’s biggest threats and should undoubtedly be considered for this years MVP. Unfortunately for us friends of the Phillies, the MVP will probably go to the Cardinals’ Albert Pujols (avg 357) despite having more then 10 less homers and close to 30 less RBI’s. What can I say, Phillies fans can’t have it all in terms of awards and stats, but what we can get our hands on in officially licensed MLB apparel. Especially now that you know for a fact that the Phillies will be playing in the cool weather, you are going to need a Philadelphia Phillies Frost Fleece to keep warm during the night games. This flashy frost fleece is a long sleeve high collar piece of Phillies apparel that has their signature blue color and a Phillies chest emblem. It is anti pill, and has side zip pockets for extra hand warmth and storage. This is a perfect piece of fightin’ Phills MLB apparel to see them through the post season.

I just don’t know why year after the year the Phillies need to make me so anxious. Yet again the race for the playoff spot in the NL East is going to go down to the last weekend of game play, and the Phills are now only 1 game up. 1 week ago the Phillies had a commanding 3.5 game lead over the Mets and just like that the red pin stripes are just holding on to the play off spot. This weekend the Phills have a series against the Washington Nationals, who at this point at their failed season could be nothing more then a spoiler for the Philadelphia team. The MLB NL East Standings (as of this afternoon) goes: Phillies 89-70, Mets, 88-71, Marlins 82-76, and well it doesn’t even much matter about the Braves or the Nationals. I am also pleased to announce that the Yankees will not be making the playoffs this year, so Boo Hoo for all the N.Y fans. What the Phillies need right now is to take one game at a time and win, win, win as much as possible. Regardless of what team you are routing for, show some support with some great MLB apparel.

If you are an avid (speed) walker, runner, jogger, sprinter, marathon racer, etc., you need a Runners World Discount Magazine subscription. Geared specifically towards people with feet and legs that just won’t quit, this magazine includes medical information, training advice, nutritional tips, race coverage, product reviews, and everything else related to keeping those feet in motion. I specifically like Runners World because it relates to many different age categories, running styles, and running abilities. It also includes in depth articles, interviews, and profiles concerning the world’s best runners, races, and places to run! A yearly Runners World subscription (12 issues) will automatically save you almost 50% off the cover price, and it will be delivered to your door with no shipping charge. This is a much better alternative to having to go to your local news shop (unless of course you need a jog) only to pay full price. A magazine subscription is an excellent opportunity for any runner to have a highly informational and educational magazine, focused specifically on the runner’s world.

On an intersection between Fell St. and Masonic Ave in the bay area, you will for the first time see a San Francisco Bicycle Stop Light. Costing almost $100,00, the bicycle traffic light is the first of its kind, and offers bicyclists and drivers a level of safety on an extremely busy intersection. The San Francisco Bike Coalition has been pushing this idea for some time and the town has recently given it the green light. However, it is now up to the bicyclist to ignore the sign and brave the road even if they have a red light, which begs the question if they will be given a ticket for crossing when they shouldn’t. The idea behind a bicycle stop light is good in theory but many towns are waiting to see the results before they invest tax payers money into such a device. Keep in mind that a bike green and red light is a level of safety for all on the road, but it is still against the law to ride without a helmet. If you are looking to purchase a sleek design or maybe even some new wheels, there are many online sites with great offers.

So the Phillies lost 3-2 against the Braves last night, only have the Mets also beat the Cubs 6-2. This brings the Phillies lead in the N.L East to only 1.5 games with only a handful left to play. Lucky for Philly fans, the Mets still need to finish their series against the hard hitting Cubs, which has already resulted in one Mets loss. If the Phillies do get to the playoffs, I say vote Ryan Howard as MVP, and even support his nomination to receive the Hank Aaron award. Currently with 46 home runs and 142 RBI’s, Howard is an absolute threat regardless of what is being thrown at him. With weight and raw power the man has a huge kill zone over the plate, and can sail a ball deep in opposite field, even at a pitchers stadium. If you a fightin Phill’s fan, you should check out the great assortment of official Phillies MLB apparel at the ESPN Shop. From hats, to long sleeve shirts, hoodies (for those cooler post season games), and authentic mlb jerseys, the ESPN Shop has it all for the true pinstripe fan.

This past Sunday was some of the hardest hitting Eagles football I have seen in some time. The team went on to win 15-6 against the Steelers due largely to the only touchdown scored by our very own Correll Buckhalter. Other than this offensive push, the Eagles Defense (including player of the week Brian Dawkins) went on to sack Big Ben Roethlisberger a total of 9 times, resulting in multiple turnovers as well as a safety. The question was if the game was worth the expense. The Eagles Football Injury Report is not looking good for the members in green. Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, Shawn Andrews, and L.J Smith are members of the team who is not practicing during the Wednesday routine, and there is only speculation as to who will be playing this Sunday against the Bears. With Donovan’s chest contusion who even knows how much velocity he will be able to get on the ball, and with a hurt ankle, I’d rather see Westbrook ride the sideline this week in preparation for a long season ahead. If you are a fan of the Eagles, check out some great Eagles apparel at Dicks Sportin Goods to show the team a little support!

We have already gotten through watching 3 hard weeks of football, but how much of that time have you actually played? If you want to throw and catch like the pro’s, you need to get your hands on the one and only Wilson Official NFL Football. Used at every NFL game, this leather game ball incorporates the highest-grade leather and finest craftsmanship, to create such high performance. The Official NFL football features commissioner Robert Goodell’s signature, “The Duke”, as well as a host of newly upgraded NFL graphics and logos. This is a perfect football for any person/player who loves the game, and is tired of having to play backyard ball with a Styrofoam nerf! Keep in mind, football season is here and the weather is only getting better for outdoor play. Make sure you buy an official NFL football that can take a beating in any weather (probably even better than you can) and get out there for some gridiron fun.

It may seem like fall weather is here, but when you start to hit that 5th mile jogging, it feels just as hot as mid summer. If you are an avid runner or someone who is highly active, you are going to need a piece of performance apparel that will keep your body’s temperature regulated regardless of a hot or cold day. The North Face Reckoning Long Sleeve T-shirt is specifically designed to maintain a comfortable core temperature, while allowing you freedom of mobility and chafe prevention. Accomplished by a bamboo charcoal and polymer blend, the fibers used to create the North Face Reckoning are of an increased surface area that makes a lighter overall fabric. It also has flat locked seams (to reduce rubbing), UV protection for those sunny day jogs, and the ability to easily wick away moisture/odor. Available in 4 colors, North Face has included reflective graphics and logos on the upper biceps to make you easily visible to drivers at night. Overall the North Face Reckoning series are great pieces of performance apparel that will keep you comfortable and dry regardless of the season.

Well the fightin’ Phills have gone to win another one last night over the Braves at a nice score of 6-1. Pitcher J.A Happ won his first major league game to give the team their 6th straight win, while Ryan Howard hit in his 137 RBI this season. Still hanging onto the first place spot in the NL East, the Phillies have one more game against the Braves before they move onto the Marlins in the next Series. If you are a Phillies fan like me, you should really buy a Phillies Cool Base Jacket. This is a quarter zip 100% polyester rip-stop jacket that includes the Phillies name on the front, and alternating red and blue design throughout. Featuring Cool Base technology, this MLB jacket will keep your temperature (and moisture level) controlled in both warm and cool temperatures and includes a polyester lining to help wick away any sweat of your skin. This piece of Phillies apparel is ideal for any weather, and will really come in handy for all those cooler post season games the Phillies are going to be playing!

Being an Eagles fan, I like to support my team throughout all the seasons. Even when it is cold out (which I consider to be the best football weather) I will be out there wearing my green apparel with a big old Eagle stamped on there. Regardless of what team you enjoy watching, you can’t go wrong wearing a Reebok NFL Sideline Jacket. Made specifically to withstand the cool bite of the September and October winds, the Mercury Hot Jacket is constructed of 100% highly durable polyester and is completely wind resistant. The sideline jacket also includes front insulated pockets to keep your hands warm, a right seam zipper, and alternating team colors on the zipper piece itself. The front of every Reebok Sideline jacket has the specific team name in bold letters, while on the back you will see the team’s logo as well as a Reebok vector and NFL shield. Offered in sizes from med-XXL, this is a great way for any Football nut to show a little team pride.

Outside of good old Andy Reid’s lack of 2-minute drill play calling and a few minor oopses (yes like Jackson and his end zone malfunction), it seems like the Eagles are going to be pretty competitive this season. In a crazy up and down game this past Monday, the birds barely lost to division rival Dallas Cowboys in a 37-41 shootout. Yes it was a tough loss, but good news is that Donovan McNabb looked healthy and ready to play hard! Now like a good Philadelphian, I own a few different game day jerseys to show my team support. My next purchase however will be a Donavan McNabb Practice Jersey. This no.5 jersey by Reebok is officially licensed and has all the appropriate logos, numbers, and names (and jock tags) right where they are supposed to be. Constructed of a highly durable 100% nylon, this is an all red full mesh body specifically cut for McNabb’s exact position and offered in sizes small to XXL . I think the Donovan practice jersey is truly awesome because who else has even has it? While everyone else is busy buying the same old Kelly green or black versions stand strong with a Reebok McNabb practice jersey!

The Fightin’ Phills have somehow scratched their way back to the top of the leader board in the NL East. Between the Phillies 8-7 win yesterday over Braves and the Mets shut out loss yesterday to the Washington Nationals (1-0), the pinstripes are a half game up in the playoff race. Seemingly a page out of last season when the Mets gave up 2-7 game leads over the Phillies, I think this year is more about a late season MVP push by Ryan Howard. Going 4 for 5 against the Nationals, Howard hit his 45 homerun (opposite field F.Y.I) and has an astounding 136 RBI’s. It is time to show the iron horse a little support with a Ryan Howard Phillies Jersey. This Philadelphia Phillies Laser Jersey is a button down front, and uses the Phills alternating red and blue color scheme throughout. The team name is plastered right across the chest and of course, Howard’s name and number are both on the back. The Ryan Howard Jersey comes in seizes medium to XXL and is a great way to help the Phillies finish of the regular season strong.

For the guys out there who are looking to lead a healthier, more active lifestyle, chances are good that you have no idea what you are doing. Yes you can probably figure out putting on a pair of shoes and jogging 3 times a week, but that does not really make you a pro in men’s fitness. A Men’s Fitness Discount Magazine is really the best way to learn all you need to know in terms of nutrition, proper exercises, apparel, gear, adventure sporting, and even relationships. This is not a fitness magazine that just skims the surface of men’s health, and then turns to career or finance. Instead Men’s Fitness is a hard-hitting guide full of pictures, how to’s, and articles in order to get you in shape (and active) the healthy way. Learn how to drop the beer gut, the “freshman 15”, or get insights on certain exercises done by UFC prize fighters. Men’s Fitness magazine will also have extremely topical information on how to please your girl friend (and no, not X rated)! This is a great yearly subscription for any guy who wants to become active, fit, and physical.

As much as I hate to admit this, Eli Manning might just be the real deal. Coming off a Super Bowl victory last season, no. 10 has already brought his Giants through 2 wins this season (over Washington and St. Louis), and is coasting on a pretty substantial 93.0 QB rating. If you are a New York Giants fan, show a little support with a Reebok NFL Eli Manning Premier Jersey. Running from small to XXXL, this jersey is constructed of performance polyester and is cut and sized to duplicate the Giants team look and skill position. With all the bells and whistles, the Manning jersey has his number on the chest, back, and shoulders, as well as authentic team logos and colors. As a piece of official Reebok NFL Equipment, a jock tag with appropriate sizing is placed at the front lower left part of the jersey, as well as an NFL Equipment patch on the inside miter collar. This Eli Manning jersey is guaranteed in stock and delivered within 3-5 days or shipping is completely free!
