So the release of Apples iPhone 3G is finally here and not in limited quantity either! In fact, the next generation has been sent out to all areas in the U.S, and the mass outbreak of 3G is expected to grow considerably throughout the year. For all the gadget junkies out there, this means no long lines, no waiting, and no crazily overpriced iPhones found on auction websites! Not only can you easily get the new cell in hand at basically half the price of the older generation, you can also expect this puppy to perform at twice the speeds. Using HSDPA (high speed data packet access) both e-mail attachments and web links load twice as fast than on the previously used EDGE network. In some cases, these speeds may even exceed 2x which is perfect considering the iPhone 3G now allows to you to both talk and surf the web simultaneously. AT&T wants to keep you connected into this high speed network and currently offers it in 280 metro areas in the U.S. This number is planned to hit 350 leading areas by the end of the year which is perfect, considering the broadband network will allow the Apple iPhone 3G to have download speeds up to 1.4 Mbps!
